How Wait Times Have Changed in 2026

Global Entry appointment availability has generally improved since mid-2025, as CBP has expanded enrollment center hours and added staff at high-demand locations. However, seasonal spikes still occur — especially before summer travel season (March-May) and holiday travel (October-December).

Tips Based on Wait Time Data

• Monitor high-volume centers — Places like JFK and O’Hare have more total slots, meaning more cancellations appear
• Watch for Monday openings — Many cancellations are made over the weekend and show up Monday morning
• Consider nearby states — A short drive to a less popular enrollment center can save months of waiting
• Use appointment alerts — The data shows that users with SMS alerts book 10x faster than those checking manually
